I got this tripod looking for a way to trim down my glassing setup. Since I got it I’ve used it on Barbary sheep in NM, turkey hunts, and ibex hunting in the Florida Mtns. I’ve been super impressed with the stability with my Kowa 554 and EL 10x42s. For the size and weight you can’t beat it.
One tip I have is that black diamond poles seem to work best. I’ve tried the S&S Archery carbon poles and they were definitely more loose in the clamps.
Such a cool product, I can’t wait to use it more this summer and fall!
Anybody who had spent days in the backcountry knows every oz counts and the GTP III beyond comparison in the category. I could immediately tell this product has many of year's of life built into it. Its Simplicity combined with craftmanship equals nothing to failfail when it counts. Well worth the money.
The GTP-III is a game changer in the quest for stability, durability, and weight saving. It weighs in at less than ½ Lb, is incredibly machined, and fits in my pocket. The GTP-III provides a steady base for mounting either my Swaro binno 15s or ATF spotting scope and seeing up on surfaces ranging from level to steep rocky slopes. I use 135 cm trekking poles as legs and top the GTP-III with an Outdoorsman micro panhead. At 6’5” the overall height is perfect. The days are over where I lug a 3+ Lb tripod on back country hunting treks. Thank you TRICER USA!!!
I bought the GTP-III after testing out the GTP-RS, because the RS had incredible attention to detail. The GTP-III didn't disappoint either. I used it with chest binos, 18x56's, and a my kowa 883 with good success. Beyond the weight savings, I really appreciate the pack volume it saves as well. It is a must have for a backcountry hunts when living out of your pack.
The GTP-III system saved me 21 ounces in my pack. I use this setup exclusively for my 15x Swarovski binoculars. I’ve used this system in winds up to 30 miles an hour and was impressed with how stable it was. Love it.
